The Gopi Gita, the song of the Vrindavan dairymaids found in the Shrimad Bhagavatam, reveals the heart of the bhakti path. Shyamdas first produced a translation of this sacred Sanskrit song in manuscript form and years later incorporated it into his book, Inner Goddess. Bholi Gopi has returned to Shyamdas’ original translation, taking up the text with great devotional enthusiasm. She offers us here an edited version of the Gopi Gita manuscript along with a new preface and glossary in which she gives context to the work and its vocabulary.
