banyau rāsa manḍala
A Rasa Lila kirtan: "banyau rāsa manḍala"
hr>
Gopi Rasik sings a deeply moving poem about Krishna’s divine circular moonlight dance with the Gopis:
Circular dance mandalas have formed.
In the middle of groups of youthful gopis,
Leader Krishna dances and sings.
The sound of the drum, “tatatheī tā theī”
resounds, as one dance move leads to another.
Shri Radha and Vallabha join
as a couple, beyond description.
They hang on one another, arm in arm,
pleasing and being pleased.
The gods, men and sages
are all enchanted and stupefied
by the sweet, sweet tones Lālana plays on His flute.
His every limb has been decorated.
The peacock feather on His head,
the dancer’s garb tied at the waist,
and His golden shawl all create such splendor.
The poet Caturabihari offers it all,
body, mind and wealth,
to the divine Lover and Beloved.
The bliss is inexpressible.
