Shyamdas loved to live by the sacred Govardhan Hill, regarded as the very form of Krishna and one of India’s most popular pilgrimage destinations. He was thrilled by recent efforts to reforest and clean the pilgrimage route. The local environment and residents are severely jeopardized by deforestation, development and pollution. In order to help keep this area a divine place to visit and live, the Shyamdas Foundation is undertaking reforestation and clean-up projects, in collaboration with local organizations, volunteers and activists.
