Shyamdas was deeply involved and invested in restoration projects at historical sites of the Pushti Marg, such as the Girdhar Nivaas havelis in Jatipura and Gokul (where he lived for many years) and other “baithak” shrines. These sacred “seats” marking the sites where Vallabhacharya and his descendants visited and gave teachings are concentrated in Braj but are located throughout the rest of India as well. The Shyamdas Foundation continues Shyamdas’s efforts to increase conveniences at baithaks while maintaining their traditional character and charm.
